The ingredients

To create the best vegetable rolls, it is important to use only fresh, high-quality products. For one portion of rolls (260 g), we will need the following ingredients:

  • 1 pc. — Katana nori seaweed sheet;
  • 140 g — cooked Katana sushi rice (boiled and seasoned);
  • 30 g — fresh cucumber, tomato, sweet bell pepper;
  • 15 g — avocado;
  • 10 g — salad mix (or iceberg);
  • 5 g — green onion.

The preparation steps

So, we bought everything we needed. Now let’s bring all the products to room temperature — and we can start cooking. To implement the recipe for sushi with avocado and vegetables, you need to perform the following simple steps:

  1. Cut a sheet of nori in half and place it on a bamboo mat with the rough side up.
  2. Carefully spread the cooked rice in a dense, even layer. In the finale, only one and a half centimeters of the upper edge of the nori sheet should remain free.
  3. Do not turn the mat over, the empty side of the nori sheet should be at the top.
  4. Cut all the vegetables and avocado into strips, chop the green onions and the salad mix, and then spread the filling in the center of the nori sheet.
  5. Wrap the roll using a special mat for sushi, having previously slightly moistened the free edge of the seaweed with water.
  6. Cut the roll into 8–10 equal pieces and serve the futomaki vegetable rolls on the table. We recommend supplementing them with ginger, wasabi and soy sauce.

Now you will definitely have prepared great futomaki. This variety of rolls is thick rolls with a combination of several fillings that differ in color, taste and texture. For example, in our version, crispy cucumber, bell pepper and greens, juicy tomato and buttery avocado were successfully combined. They create a beautiful contrast of green and red, which can be complemented with yellow bell pepper.
